June 17, 2025. This was the public library in the TV show Stranger Things. You can go inside, and they have a few items and displays on the show. If you or your kids are big Stranger Things fans, this is a must stop.

The historic Butts County Courthouse is a must-see for those who like history or Stranger Things fans. The main level has been renovated and is a great look into the old architecture of the late 1880s. The town has a great small-town feel and the people are super friendly. Jackson is used as the "Stranger Things" town of Hawkins on NetFlix and the people of the town have embraced the popularity. Many films have been made here and the Butts Chamber of Commerce (located inside the old courthouse) has a map for them. You'll love walking around the old square and visiting the shops. We've met people visiting from many different states but the locals are friendly and helpful.

Very nice town to live in, unspoiled unlike so many others. The school system is very forward looking and puts education first. The infrastructure is great for a growing county and the sheriff's department is top notch. Taxes are still reasonable considering the need for expansion. I've been here 20 years watching great things happen all around me! (Pics include the filming of "Stranger Things" season 1)

Visiting here and can tell you they love confederate statues. Not a town I would feel safe in. The statue stands there an haunts this town. Suppression is real. I'll be spending my money else where. Shame on Butts county.. it's time for Love in the country.
