Kings Cinema, Kingsbridge – A Hidden Gem with Heart Tucked into the historic Kingsbridge Town Hall, Kings Cinema is a charming little venue that blends classic atmosphere with a warm, community feel. It may not be a big-chain multiplex, but that’s exactly its appeal. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and the setting—right on the high street—adds to its cozy, local vibe. Inside, the screens are well maintained with crisp visuals and solid sound quality. Seating is generally comfortable, though a few older armrests could use some TLC. The cinema offers a great mix of current releases and special event screenings like opera or theatre productions, which is a huge plus for a small town. Booking ahead is recommended, especially during weekends or holidays, as the cinema is popular and seats fill up quickly. Overall, Kings Cinema is a delightful place to catch a film—affordable, relaxed, and full of character. A must-visit if you're in the area and looking for something more personal than your average movie night.

Such a funny little venue, but it totally works for being a small / local cinema. From what I understand, the empty and spacious entry hall is still used for town hall events. Which explains the lack of seating etc. There are 3 screens, which are slightly smaller than branded cinemas would be. The picture and sound quality were exactly what you’d expect from any other cinema though, which is great. The seating is ‘tiered’, but not as tiered as it really should be. If you sit behind someone any taller than average, you will miss some of the screen and picture. I was leaning to the side lol, mostly as I was too lazy to move to a vacant seat and cause a fuss. The toilets are small and a bit run down, but generally clean. The screen seating is the same, run down, missing a bit of fabric here and there but clean. It seems as though the staff put in the effort to keep things as clean as possible. The staff working were friendly, but seemed bored and cold. The entry area does not feel inviting and is cold and vacant. If you are early, you cannot sit down or wait anywhere. It felt so awkward, we stood outside 😂 The popcorn was great!

Small cinema in an historic building. Great picture and sound quality. Licensed performances with small bar also selling the usual snacks. A great experience and certainly more character than the large out of town cinemas

Comfy-ish seating which is a bit old and tired but it's a local cinema. Not the biggest screen but sound is ok and you can go to a Vue not a million miles away if you want big screen and really modern facilities.

What a nostalgic cinema!!Not only was the theatre designed in a way that felt like "home" but the quality in sound and picture was absolutely clear and did more to enhance the experience!! Don't over look this if you are staying nearby!! The latest films are also showing so no reason to skip!

Went to one of the inclusive screenings with softer lighting and sounds and no ads. Such a great offering for those who need a little more support to come to the cinema without feeling overwhelmed! Ticket prices very reasonable too.

I usually like this cinema as it's in a historic building and it's great to support local, town centre cinemas. We went to see paddington 3 in screen 3 - the smallest screen on 30th December. The chairs are past their prime and the armrest kept falling off the one I was sat in. We waited for the programme to start...and waited...and 20 minutes after the scheduled start time of 11.20 we went to find the staff, who informed us that the film had already started. We assured them it hadn't! Another 20 minutes of fixing a 'technical issue' (for which there was no apology) the film started (albeit without adverts or trailers to evidently make up time) at just before midday. Film was good, cinema less so on this occasion. Plus an extra hour on the parking meter because of the delay. No GM in sight when we left!
